If you have too many Film to scan, this is the place to get info.
Scanning a few negatives is very easy. But scanning thousands of frame is a very difficult project. You need patience and dedication to acomplish such a big task.
Before you start buying equipment.
The best way to go is a dedicated film scanner. But at the moment most of them are discontinue and what is available is not the best. The only practical way to go now is with a flat bed scanner, that has the feature or adapters to scan negatives and slides. The more negatives or slide you can scan at the same time the better. From all available at the market, I recommend only:
Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner
and
CanoScan 8800F
Before you start scanning:
If you planning to make big prints from your scans, make sure that at least you are scanning at 3,200 dpi or higher.
If you just want photos for the web and 4x6 prints, then all you need is 1,600 dpi
